2012 Shadow Week Update - Expo cancelled

Dear Vendors

We regret to report that the SWA Tech Expo (normally part of the USASOC
C4 Conference) will not occur this year. We know how important this
conference is to all the vendors and we were trying our best to secure a
venue to accommodate both the conference schedule and provide you access
to the conferees. That said, the Conference itself will still be
happening.

Conference scheduling by USASOC was delayed by a number of policy
changes. As you may know, both funding and required justification for
"Conferences," face significant command scrutiny. Approval came to late
and the scheduling was delayed; the desired venue was not available.
Given the restriction to hold such events "off installation", we sought
an alternate on-base venue that could accommodate both the Conference
and provide vendors with a proximate Expo site. However, as late as
last week, availability changes made it impossible to provide space to
do both in the same place. We frankly are out of acceptable venue
choices.

Along with the Conference itself, the SWA Golf Tournament and Shadow
Warrior Ball will still be happening. To that end, if you would like to
continue to help by sponsoring parts of the Golf Tournament it would be
greatly appreciated. As you may be aware, all of the proceeds from the
Golf Tournament go toward funding the Ball. This helps reduce the cost
for Soldiers. SWA is a nonprofit organization and can provide the
appropriate documentation for your donation upon request.

If, however, you decide not to support the Tournament because of the
Expo cancellation, we completely understand. If you have already
submitted payment to the SWA via PayPal or check, please let us know and
we will coordinate with you to ensure your money refunded. Of course,
we hope that you will still be able to support the soldiers of the
112th, by participating in some way at this year's event. We apologize
for the inconveniences brought about by delays born of the policy
changes.
